Most small businesses are paying for services they no longer need, missing renewal deadlines, or operating under outdated vendor agreements. HBL Consulting provides an independent review to identify cost savings, contract risks, and operational gaps.
Vendor costs and recurring services rarely stay static. Contracts renew, pricing changes, and protections lapse while business owners stay focused on running the company. HBL Consulting acts as an independent vendor watchdog, helping small businesses monitor costs, risks, and renewals before problems surface.
Independent inventory of every recurring vendor relationship with a written risk and savings report.
Track every contract end-date and cancellation window so nothing auto-renews on autopilot.
Flag unfavorable terms, missing protections, and pricing creep before they cost you.
Independent review of vendor terms and pricing, plus coordination support for renewal conversations — without overstepping relationships you've already built.
A single source of truth for your vendor register — replacing the binder, the inbox search, and the office manager's memory.
Optional follow-on engagement once your vendors are sorted, so the system stays clean year over year.
If your business is small enough that you don't have a procurement department but big enough to deal with more than a handful of vendors, you're exactly who this is for.
Flat-fee engagements with a defined scope. No open-ended billing. No long-term retainer required to get started.
We talk through what you have, what you're spending, and where the obvious gaps are. Initial observations and engagement fit discussion. No obligation.
Written vendor inventory, contract review summary, renewal calendar, and risk observations. Most audits delivered within two weeks.
Support vendor renewal reviews, organization, and coordination at flat per-project rates. No retainer, no long-term contract — only the work you decide is worth doing.
Every engagement is scoped and priced before work begins. The discovery call helps determine whether a vendor audit or targeted project work is the right fit.
A focused conversation to identify whether a paid audit is worth your time.
The core engagement. A complete written review of your recurring vendor relationships.
Focused support for a specific vendor issue, renewal review, or contract concern without requiring a full vendor audit.
HBL Consulting was built from a career spent working in high-accountability environments where details, oversight, and operational discipline mattered.
Most recently, Jonathan managed vendor coordination and contract oversight across a large portfolio of concurrent programs, serving as a central point of accountability between stakeholders, vendors, and delivery teams. That experience exposed a recurring problem: businesses often sign vendor agreements once, then rarely revisit them until costs, renewals, or operational issues become unavoidable.
Prior work and education span government and military operations serving in the United States Coast Guard for 8 years. Post military, he spent nearly 10 years in Information Technology and Data Analytics within the healthcare field also earning a B.S. in Information Technology Management and a M.S. in Management of Clinical Informatics during that time.
HBL Consulting brings that same analytical and operational oversight mindset to small businesses that do not have dedicated procurement or vendor management staff.
